The IOP-241 provides up to 24 digital input and output signals. Each signal may be individually configured as input or output. In addition, each of the 24 signals are buffered to enhance the IOP-241's drive capability.
Eight of the digital signals may be used as interrupt sources. Each interrupt source may be programmed to be level sensitive or pulse triggered. An additional interrupt is available when all 24 IO lines are needed. The interrupt signal of the IOP-241 may be mapped to any one of IRQ3-7, 9-12 or 14 and 15.
The IOP-241 occupies 16 IO address locations, and the address location may be selected by the user. The IOP-241 is easily programmed from host high level programming languages.
A client software driver is provided to configure the IOP-241. The IOP-241 client software driver is compatible with PCMCIA Card Services Specification 2.1. With the client software driver the PCMCIA Card and Socket Services installed, the IOP-241 may be removed from and inserted into a Type II PCMCIA socket at anytime with automatic configuration occurring upon each card insertion. A separate enabler program is provided for the configuration of the IOP-241 for those who wish to run the card without card and socket services installed. An optional Visual Basic Controls (VBX) called VISUALDAQ, is also available. For turn-key operation, the IOP-241 is also compatible with Labtech Notebook and Snap Master Software
